San Carlos Borromeo Cathedral, also called San Carlos Cathedral, is the ecclesiastical seat of the Diocese of San Carlos and a 20th-century cathedral located in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.

History
The city began as a village called Nabingkalan, which flourished under the leadership of Carlos Apurado that it was organized into a pueblo and renamed San Carlos in 1856.
However, it was annexed to Calatrava in 1890. It regained its municipal status during the Philippine Revolution and reaffirmed under Act No. 119 on April 20, 1901. And finally it became a city on July 1, 1960 pursuant to Republic Act No. 2643.
Its church began as a visita of Calatrava when the latter was elevated to a parish in 1870. Then it seceded from Calatrava and became an independent parish in 1895.
Building of the present-day cathedral began in 1928, an initiative undertaken by Fr. Leoncio Reta. Hounded by insufficient funding, it was continued by Fr. Manuel Gomara with the donations gathered from the public and the church was blessed and inaugurated in November 1935. Its structure was based on the proposal by Dr. Cerada and church-building was overseen by architect Angel Locsin Yulo, combining architectural traditions of the “Gothic, Byzantine, and Romanesque.”
Then it became a cathedral when the Diocese of San Carlos was erected on March 30, 1987.
Architecture
The light yellow-dark red facade of the church is made recessed by the twin bell towers flanking it and its portico. Its fenestration generally follows the pointed arch template, and blind pointed arches decorate the front wall, pediment, and doorways. Rose windows with quatrefoil motif are also found high up the walls. The towers are capped with a steep pyramidal roof.

The feast day of St. Charles Borromeo is November 4.

The cathedral office is open 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday, it is open 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN.
