Holy Name of Jesus Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Capoocan, Leyte, Philippines.

History
Capoocan’s interior land was blanketed with forests and undergrowth while its coastland was bounded by mangroves. The wilderness made travel tough, and so its name comes from the word kapook, meaning obstructed.
It belonged to the municipality of Carigara since the Spanish times, and for a short period of time it gained its independence as a separate town only to be annexed again to Carigara.
The church was founded in 1895, while Capoocan attained its municipal status through Executive Order 87 by Governor General Francis Burton Harrison on November 23, 1917.
