History
Nueva Caceres used to be called Ivisan. Its mother parish was Carcar Church (previously Sialo, now known as Valladolid) and later Boljoon Church in 1690. It was absorbed into the parish of Oslob but it was eventually separated when it was declared a parish on February 12, 1877. The church was built in 1812 within the term of Fr. Julian Bermejo.
Architecture
Nueva Caceres Church is unique for its facade of undulating decorative arches flanked by fluted engaged columns. In the ground level, the entrance is an arch doorway flanked by blind aches. Above it is the niche of the patron flanked by arch windows. The pediment is made up of three gables, the middle one higher and larger than the other two flanking it.
The quadrangular bell tower is erected in the epistle side and connected to the church. It is made up of three levels and topped with a balustrade and pyramidal roof. The convent stands in the gospel flank.
