History
Culaba was part of Caibiran in the beginning. It was elevated into a town, as were the towns of Kawayan, Maripipi and Cabucgayan, upon the visit of General Ambrocio Mojica in his travel to take the role of governor in 1899. It was destroyed at the height of the Pulahanes revolt in 1902 and it was reabsorbed into Caibiran.
Culaba regained its status as a municipality by virtue of Executive Order No. 630 signed by President Elpidio Quirino on October 16, 1953.
Meanwhile, the church was established in 1966.
Architecture
The view of the facade is dominated by the huge church bell tower rising from the entrance. Above the doorway is the niche of the patron.
Celebration
The feast day of St. Isidore the Worker is May 15, while Sta. Maria Torribia Dela Cabezza is every second Saturday of September.
