History
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church was established on August 22, 1963. It was first administered by priests belonging to the religious order Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, and then it was turned over to the diocesan clergy in 1979.
On its golden anniversary (50 years) as a parish, Archbishop Jose S. Palma declared a special year of grace and the church as a place of pilgrimage starting from August 22, 2013 to August 22, 2014. Devotees and churchgoers who heard a mass and attend activities of the anniversary received plenary indulgence after prescribed prayers.
Architecture
The facade of the church is dominated by a tall pediment that seems to pierce the blue sky. It is made of tapering concrete in blue that flanks a white pierced church wall. At its foot is the image of the patroness bearing the Holy Child and she stands on clouds. The pediment is topped with a cross.
Churchgoers walk up through a flight of stairs and unto the landing with cantilevered ceiling that serves as portico. Its entrance is through a rectilinear door. In the interiors, stained glass windows depicting the Stations of the Cross are found together with side arch entrances.
The churchyard serves as a parking lot. Within the compound is the Don Sulpicio Go Ayala Land, Inc. Parish Center.
Celebration
The feast of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is every first Sunday of June.
