History
The church was founded on November 11, 1993 by virtue of a decree signed by Archbishop Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal. It serves the villages of Tapilon, Carnaza, Lanao, and parts of Agujo (Cogon).
Architecture
The churchyard is a driveway and has garden patches. Its portico has a triangular awning that leads to an entryway which is a gilded door that depicts the patron in mid-flight and a triangular embellishment containing the image of the dove representing the Holy Spirit. The rest of the facade is a stark, plain wall with recessed areas; one such area is right above the entrance and it contains stained glass windows with a cross motif. Its pediment contains channel letters that spell, “San Miguel Parish.”
Celebration
The feast of St. Michael the Archangel falls on May 8.
