History
The church was designed by Jose Mari Cañizares and built in 1996. A year later, it was declared a parish.
Architecture
The church, according to one report, is inspired by the headdress of Spanish colonizer Ferdinand Magellan called morion. It is marked with soft lines and two imposing, overlapping roofs that gather in sharp angles at the top and that spread gently into curves towards the bottom. Its facade is recessed as a result of the eaves being extended outward, like a brim.
In its pediment is a huge stained glass with network of concrete bands forming into individual panes and at its center is the image of the Holy Child. The facade is flanked by church walls that are slanted to the sides and bearing images of holy figures. The lateral walls are buttressed.
The faithful is welcomed through a portico with a semicircular canopy, and on its fascia is the name of the church. Its interior features a clean, coffered ceiling with visible rafters.
Celebration
The feast of Sto. Niño falls on third Sunday of February.
Services
The parish office is open daily from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon and from 2:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon.
