History
The church’s cornerstone was laid on August 1, 1989 and Fr. Faustino Paglinawan was designated as the first parish priest. Construction began on October 3, 1989 and finished on October 27, 1990.
Architecture
The church is renown for its round shape, a majestic conical roof, and a facade that flares into a triadic set of gables. Unlike other churches that are designed in traditional cruciform pattern, it is semi-circular with wall-buttresses built in the sections in the ground level. Above the altar on the roof is a multi-bodied apex with each side a window and gable-roofed. Atop is a triad of interlinked spires.
The facade is uniquely sharp-angled and made up of three gable dormers protruding from the vertical incline of the roof. The central one bears two seals on the lintel and is bigger than the other two flanking it, it lets in the most light through a glass window on its pediment. On each of their lintels and end walls is a three-gabled decor and pierced windows.
Celebration
The feast of Our Lady of Consolacion is held every first Sunday of August.
