Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church is a Roman Catholic and Marian church located in Hernani, Eastern Samar, Philippines.

History
The old name of the town was Nag-as after the river. It was established by Miguel Candido who moved from Guiuan. It was raised into a pueblo and its church into a parish through a decree issued by Governor General Rafael Echague on January 4, 1864. Its name was likewise changed to Hernani.
The town was reverted to a village of Lanang (present-day Llorente) by virtue of Act No. 960 passed on October 23, 1903. In 1912, its municipal status was restored however the seat of the government was moved to Pambujan (General MacArthur). It became a full-fledged municipality through Executive Order released by Governor General Leonard Woord in 1926.
An early church was made of wood and nipa. It was replaced with a stone church in the 19th century but unfortunately stands in ruins today. It was erected by Fr. Vicente Pila in 1884 in a location that was once the poblacion and near the cemetery of today.
A strong typhoon hit the town on October 7, 1897. Hundreds of townsfolk perished, the waves of the sea left a devastation in its wake, and the church was destroyed. In the aftermath, the poblacion was moved to the present-day site.
Architecture
The church’s facade is a pierced wall bounded by concrete molding and surface. Glass windows are founding in the middle section, which likewise bears the image and the name of the patroness. The laity can enter the interiors through one of three entrances, which are shaded by an overhang. The bell tower that reflects the aesthetic look of the facade rises in the epistle side.
