History
In 1970s, the Oblates of Jesus envisioned to put up their presence in Iloilo on the account of a number of their religious members from the province. Their leaders had a dialogue with Archbishop Alberto Piamonte on August 28, 1998, and the result was the donation of two-hectare property in Barangay Buntatala where a parish would be erected.
Religious services were held at a temporary chapel (present-day Michelerio Hall) beginning in October 1998.
The church was canonically erected by Archbishop Alberto Piamonte on April 18, 2002. Its first parish priest was Fr. Ray Sales, OSJ. The present-day church was constructed starting in May 2004, and it was consecrated on June 2, 2006.
It serves the communities in Buntatala, Tagbak, Lanit, Guintas and Camangay.
Architecture
The white church dons blue accent. A portico by the entrance is flanked by statues of holy figures and twin walls with arch apertures. The upper register of the church is punctured by round and arch windows.
Celebration
The feast day of the Spousal of Mary and Joseph is January 8.

The parish office is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Tuesday to Sunday.
