History
The mission station was established on January 9, 2019, but its history goes way back to the colonial era. Santa Rosa was organized in 1880 and a chapel that was erected by Spanish Catholics was dedicated to the patronage of St. Rose of Lima.
The chapel becoming a mission station was proposed during the term of Fr. Loreto Amante, the parish priest of St. Joseph Church in Barugo. It was approved by Archbishop Jose Palma, and Fr. Ronilo Barreda was assigned as its first minister.
It was canonically erected into a parish in 2023.
Architecture
The church is located within the gated church preemies. Its facade is flanked by protruding walls containing the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Above the entrance is an overhang in the shape of a gable, and the pediment is pierced with an arch window with panes bearing the image of the patroness.
Celebration
The feast day of St. Rose of Lima is August 30.
