St. Michael the Archangel Church is a Roman Catholic church located in Pintuyan in Panaon Island, Southern Leyte, Philippines.

History
In the past, Pintuyan was a site for salt-making that it was previously called Laga-an, which means a location for boiling water. It offered excellent harbor for sea vessels during monsoon season, and it became known as a gateway to other neighboring islands. Its name was changed to Pinto-an, meaning a door, that eventually evolved into the present-day Pintuyan.
In 1864, it was part of the territory of the nearby town of San Ricardo. The seat of the government of San Ricardo, however, was moved to Pintuyan by virtue of Act 1616 of the Philippine Commission on March 19, 1907.
The church was established in 1931.
Architecture
The church’s facade has an interesting mix of plain, grooved, and pierced wall sections. Above the entrance is an overhang with a row of crosses, (which can also be seen piercing the wall on either side) and a round hollow with glass installation of St. Michael. The pediment is bare except for two rows of short, white concrete lines (that seem to resemble dentil though generously spaced between one another).
