History
The town was formed by virtue of Republic Act No. 5777 enacted on June 21, 1969 by combining the villages of San Isidro, Punong, Hinapo, Rizal, Maslog, Banday, Cambite, Cabascan, Cawayan, Ana-hawan, Carnaga, Maanyag, Tinago and Salvacion, all from the municipality of Malitbog. It was named after Filipino politician Tomas Oppus.
